Type for Pride - LGBTQIA+

In India, and in many parts of the world, conversations around the LGBTQIA+ community are still often treated as taboo. Many individuals continue to face prejudice and backlash simply for being themselves and embracing their identity.
With this in mind, it felt important to me and my fellow group members, Aayushi Mehta and Haily Shah, to create work that could act as both a voice and a platform for awareness. We transformed commonly used slang and terminology into an educational campaign expressed through intentional typography.
The outcome was a series of seven posters, each representing different identities, letters, and terms within the LGBTQIA+ community. Our approach was to capture a sense of freedom, visibility, and pride by weaving the vibrancy of the flag colours into a typographic language that visually reflected the spirit of the community.
